Rule #1 - No Personal Attacks! Please use the same courtesy that you would when speaking to someone face to face. Flames, insults and personal attacks will not be tolerated.
Rule #2 - No Bashing ANY band for ANY reason Reasonable constructive criticism is OK. Hurtfull bad mouthing is not. A good motto to follow is: "If you would not hear it said on a judges tape, don't say it here."
Rule #3 - No pornographic or illegal content (this would include links to such material).
Rule #4 - Please take up any concerns or complaints about the way the TPA staff runs this site and moderates this board on private messages only. DO NOT post complaints or concerns on a public thread. Any such posts will be removed immediately. We are always open to how we can improve our site and value the thoughts of our posters, but making a public stink about what we do only makes matters worse.
In addition to the above four rules, the staff of TPA also has three requests in order to keep our board enjoyable to everybody. Though these request will not be strictly enforced, they may sometimes cause us to decide to delete, move or lock posts and threads on occasion. Please note: The staff of TPA DOES reserve the right to delete, move or lock posts and threads on this board for any reason. However, we will always try and make deleting posts a last resort.
Request #1 - Please stay on topic. It's really annoying when you don't stay within the topic of the selected forum or thread. There is a "General" forum to make posts not related to the subjects of our regular band and arts forums.
Request #2 - Please try to keep your number of usernames down to TWO. Many message boards make it a rule to have only ONE. However, the staff of TPA appreciates and respects the option for users to remain anonymous if they choose. TWO usernames allows for everyone to have a username for "anonymity" and one for open recognition of identity (if one so chooses). We at TPA, not only allow for both, but encourage everyone to have one of each. So sign up TWO user accounts TODAY if you have not already. We welcome it!
Request #3 - NO GLOATING! Another fine line to walk so I'll give you another example. INSTEAD OF SAYING (regarding your own program): "__________(insert band's name) is the best band in the state and is in a league of their own"...or...."We won because we were the best band and the rest were not"....INSTEAD SAY:"___________(insert band's name) has a lot of great things going for them this year. We have a great director, a great staff and great students who work (or have worked) real hard to achieve our very best of successes and I'm very proud of our program".
